John Morgan Buys: Colonial Leftovers | Officers' Effects

Welcome to John Morgan Hire Company Website

John Morgan Hire Company has provided pre-war luggage to the film & television industries since 1984. We need to buy more things! Ready money is paid for redundant leather goods, officers' effects and colonial leftovers. Please enjoy browsing this website and give your neglected kit the chance to relive days of glory.

Our extensive premises are based at Muston's Yard in the centre of the beautiful Saxon hill top town of Shaftesbury. Take an interactive tour round part of our Coaching and Military Museum or you can call us up to make an appointment to visit.

"...he paid well for my bearskin at Erskine..."
"...and bought all of my boots from Glenfoot"

John Morgan (a serving Territorial) combines frequent visits to military training areas throughout Britain with detours via attics, box rooms, stables and cellars.

Our restoration department is second to none. We buy items in any condition, in small or large quantities.

We will already have bought from many people you know, in every part of the British Isles.

No other firm understands the kit like we do.

"I first heard of John Morgan's Hire Company when my father sold him some family military items which were truly "relicts of empire".  He was much taken with John's collection.  When I left the Army I disposed of my uniforms and various military oddities and antiquities through John who has an uncanny ability to turn the most unlikely items into cash.  If you have the slightest interest in our nation's military history from Victorian times to the Cold War then a visit to John's web site is an absolute necessity."

Lt Gen Sir Philip Trousdell, KBE, CBE.

"You'll always find something of interest in John's unique collection. He rises to the challenge of finding those useful things that are difficult to get anywhere else. For example, box-spurred mess wellingtons are just one of the versatile, family christmas gifts he's supplied me with this year."

Jools Holland OBE, DL.
